Xwatch Safety Solutions welcomed Derek to the team as a Field Engineer at the beginning of January
Derek joins with more than two decades of hands-on experience across the construction and agricultural sectors. Most recently, he worked as a Field Engineer for Liebherr, covering the south of Scotland, where he was responsible for servicing and repairing a wide range of heavy construction equipment. His career has also included senior roles across the plant and agricultural world, giving him deep, practical knowledge of excavators, loaders, tractors and specialist machinery in demanding, real-world environments.
Having worked with leading OEMs and across dealer and end-user environments, Derek understands what matters to Xwatch customers and the realities of keeping machines working safely on site.
Known for his methodical approach, strong fault-finding skills and commitment to customer service, Derek brings exactly the sort of experience Xwatch customers rely on in the field. He is equally comfortable working independently on remote sites as he is supporting colleagues, mentoring apprentices and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
Derek will be working across Scotland and the north of England, installing and supporting Xwatch safety systems and helping customers get the most from their machines, safely and confidently.
Jemma Dycer - Hopkins (IOSH), Sales and Operations Manager at Xwatch Safety Solutions part of Hexagon, said:
“Derek brings a huge amount of practical experience and a really steady approach to the job. He’s worked on just about every type of machine you can think of and understands what life is like on site. That’s exactly what our customers value. We’re delighted to have him on board – and what better day to introduce him than his birthday.”
